Gaming
This weekend I had my first practice games, I'm glad that losing is the best way to learn as it is what I tended to do.
Game 1 Space Wolves vs Grey Knights
This was a 1750pts game so I added 2 Razorbacks with the Long Fangs to run as empty fire bases and a Rune priest with Murderous Hurricane.
My opponent had 3 LRR with 8 girls each, Coteaz, an Inquisitor, 2 squads of acolites in rhinos and a psyker squad in a rhino.
Mission: Capture and control, Deployment: Spearhead
My opponent got first turn, so I castled in the corner ready to defend my objective with my Long Fangs in a ruin and my Rhinos and razorbacks behind the ruin, BIG MISTAKE. he sped up the board, got his girls to kill everything on my objective while his assault cannons were popping my AV11. The 1 good moment for me was when my 2 Wolf Scout units came on, popped the psykers' rhino and killed the psykers inside, killed 1 squad of acolites and contested his objective.
Space Wolves: 0 Grey Knights: 1.
Game 2 Space Wolves vs Blood Angels
Same pts, my opponent ran a storm-chicken with 5 termis, a chaplain and a priest, Mephiston, The Sanguinor, 3 ten man squads with 2 melta and 1 fist in rhinos.
Mission: Annihilation, Deployment: Pitched battle
He got first turn again, zoomed up and by turn 1 was within assault range with storm-chicken, ready for a turn 2 assault, everything popped smoke so my shooting only wrecked stormraven and immobalised a rhino thanks to sh*t dice and great cover saves. In thurn 2, 2 of my Long Fangs were assaulted but I got some points back, and killed half the termi squad, the priest and took a wound off the chaplain thanks to Dangerous terrain caused by Murderous Hurricane. Go Rune Priest!
I conceded after turn 3 because I had next to no shooting left and my scouts were not coming on + it was getting really late. Our end game prediction was:
Space Wolves: 4 Blood Angels:6-8
These Battle reports were not as detailed as I hoped to make them because I forgot to write a turn by turn, but in the future I will.
Hobby
I have fully painted a squad of Grey hunters and I am half way through my second. I am trying to paint them how they look on the front of the codex, using 'Adeptus Battlegrey' as the armour colour, chainmail for the weapons, dwarf flesh for faces, bad moon yellow for hair and I am yet to paint any wolf pelts. I finished it off with a dip in my 'magic wash' and voilĂ a fully painted model, I hope to post pictures next time.
Thats all for now, so until next time, noob's out!
This is a blog dedicated to my journey to finding my perfect Space Wolves list. I will take you through the hobbying, play testing and rules debates on the way

So much plastic!
After a hard day of work I have finally finished my 1500pts army, well made it at least. Anyway here is a picture of the overwhelming display of GW plastic miniatures
Here I have my Rune Priest model, I have converted it from the Grey Hunters box simply because I didn't want to spend £8.20 on a model that I could make an okay version of myself out of a £23 box of ten.
And finally, I have one of my wolf guard models, again it is from the Grey Hunters box, I like the wolf head so I used them on my wolf guard. I made the combi-melta out of a boltgun with the grip cut off and replaced by a meltagun barrel. I could not find the six power fists necessary for my six wolf guard models (I need 6 at 2000pts), so I cut the claws off a few wolf claws to make fists!
Codex Snippets
This is the part where I will talk (type) about some of my favourite parts, units and rules in the Space Wolves codex.
Behind Enemy Lines: This rule is unique to wolf scouts. It says that if the squad is using the outflank rule roll a dice, on a 1 the unit comes on on the left flank, on a 2 the right and on a 3+ any board edge of the player's choice. I see IG car park written all over this unit, give em some melta bombs, a meltagun and they're good to go. I see Wolf Scouts as a 115pts 'suicide, bang goes your tank' squad. Or you can give them 2 power weapons and mark of the Wulfen and send them at enemy infantry, these guys are relatively hard and will go through terminators, or at least take them down as the scouts die, if armed correctly
Jaws of the world wolf: This is my favourite Rune Priest psychic power. You draw a 24" line from the rune priest, and every non-vehicle model touched by the line must take an Initiative test. ( roll a dice and get equal or less than your initiative to pass, six is an auto fail ) If they fail the model is removed. This power has big tyranid monstrous creature written all over it as they are Initiative 1 (but they get -1 to their roll because they are monstrous creatures). I can't wait to see the face of my opponent when they remove a 4 wound model after 1 psychic shooting attack. :)
That's all for now, so until next time, Noob's out.

Well, here goes nothing!
I want to start off by saying that I don't care if no one reads my blog. I am merely using it as a way to record my hobbying progress, keep my favourite battle reports and most importantly vent my anger after a crushing defeat.
I have decided that I have explored the Xenos side of 40k enough after playing Necrons, Tyranids and Eldar so I have settled for a Marine army, The Space Wolves. My eyes lit up when I saw the unique units and wargear that the army had to offer, but my excitement was short-lived as I soon realised that I would probably end up doing a razor spam MSU if I wanted to run a competitive tourney army. I ran a few list ideas through my head while listening to the 11th Company podcast and in the end finally came up with a list. Although I would have loved to run the tri thunderlord list I just didn't think it was practical or suited my play style. Here is my 1500pts list.

I can hear your disappointed sighs as you think, Yay! another WAAC player trying to beat face with a nooby copy and paste list but I just don't like the other options in the codex.
I will try to post regular updates as I reach milestones in the journey to my final army. Such as my progress in making my army and play-testing it. Right now I have made most of my Grey Hunters, 1 unit of scouts, my Rune priests ( converted from the Grey Hunter box ) all my Long Fangs par 1 ( using hunter killer missiles as missile launchers ), 1 rhino and 1 razorback. I have ordered a Dark Eldar razorwing flock model to use as chooser of the slain markers. It's not a cheap method but the result looks amazing. Nothing more to say really so for now, Noob's out!
